Gawd, I haven't been on Hilton Head in years. We had a place in Sea Pines Plantation. Now that brings back memories.

Ah, sorry, on the left coast now.

Hi Chris -- I'm about 20 minutes from DC in Vienna, VA. You'd be welcome to stop by my shop, too.

Hello Chris-
I am in Markham Virginia which is about 50 miles due west of DC directly off I66.

Wow, Sylvan, I had no idea you were so close by.

(?) a VA/DC luthier's get-together?

Take Sylvan up on his offer, it was definitely worth my drive down when I was over last time. Great guy, great shop, some great jigs, still have some ideas kicking around that need implementing that are entirely his fault!

Jon ... you know what? I've discussed the possibility of this with a couple "local" luthier-types. Mike Mears at Windy Hill Guitar Works in Fairfax Station is also interested in a get-together, particularly of professional/serious amateur builders.

Hmmm ... might there be an "Old Dominion" guild of luthiers in the offing? Sylvan, any interest?

Best,

Jim

Oh, and you're not that far away from Steve Roberson (Colonial Tonewoods). Take a wad of cash, go visit, have a nice chat, sift through piles of gorgeous hardwoods and adi tops...
